Sport Performance and Psychological Well-being


Degree in Clinical Psychology from the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Lisbon (FPCE-UL). Professional career initially focused on the field of addictions, particularly alcoholism and gambling addiction. Experience working in mental health settings, especially inpatient care, led to an interest in promoting mental health through healthy lifestyle habits, including physical exercise, as an integral part of the therapeutic process.


Completed training in Sport and Exercise Psychology at FMH and ISPA, developing a particular interest in Sport Psychology, both in the development of young talent and in high-performance sport.

In 2007, began working in Sport Psychology within senior handball, subsequently working in senior volleyball and professional football, all within Primeira Liga teams (CSM – Marítimo). Professional practice has since continued in high-performance sport, focusing on performance optimisation, recovery from prolonged injuries, promotion of psychological well-being, and career transitions or changes of sport, working with athletes across a range of disciplines, including tennis, golf, squash, padel, sailing and football. Also works with Olympic athletes.


In youth sports development, has worked with athletes across a range of disciplines, including tennis, football, gymnastics, sailing, padel, squash and golf, focusing on the development of psychological skills that support both individual and sporting growth, as well as empowering families as a key factor in healthy athletic development.

In the field of performance arts, works with both professional and developing dancers and musicians.

Also works with football, handball and tennis coaches, with a focus on performance and psychological well-being.


Member of the multidisciplinary GAPP (Group for Action in Psychology and Performance) intervention team, under the coordination of Ana Bispo Ramires.
