Sport and Performance Psychology
Psychologist and lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Psychology at Portuguese Catholic University – Porto Regional Centre. PhD in Social Psychology from the University of Kent (United Kingdom) and postgraduate qualification in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Instituto Superior de Psicologia Aplicada (ISPA). Registered member of the Portuguese Psychologists’ Association (professional registration no. 21803).
Since 2019, Assistant Professor at Portuguese Catholic University, responsible for the Sport and Performance Psychology course and for supervising curricular trainees undertaking placements in sports settings. Currently also coordinates the university’s Postgraduate Programme in Sport and Performance Psychology.
Researcher at the Centre for Human Development Research at the Faculty of Education and Psychology of Portuguese Catholic University. Research focuses on the impact of leadership and psychological skills in organisational and sporting contexts, with numerous international publications.
Professional intervention in sport has focused on training and developing psychological skills to optimise performance among athletes and coaches, alongside consultancy work with sports clubs aimed at developing and promoting more productive, competitive and psychologically healthy sporting environments.
Member of the multidisciplinary GAPP (Group for Action in Psychology and Performance) intervention team, under the coordination of Ana Bispo Ramires.
