Degree in Dance from the Faculty of Human Kinetics, University of Lisbon (FMH-UL), with international training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, certified through the 200-hour It’s Yoga Teacher Training Course – RYT200 by Yoga Alliance (USA). Completed the second year of the Master’s Degree in High-Performance Training at FMH-UL.
Began a career in movement as a high-performance DanceSport athlete in 1991, achieving top-level national and international titles over a 12-year period. With approximately 24,000 hours of training and professional development, developed a strong foundation in movement, physical conditioning and performance.
Joined the Gulbenkian Ballet as a professional dancer, collaborating with specialists in movement techniques and creators working across different artistic languages. Continued an international career as a dancer with Company Blue Elephant, under the direction of Jun In-Jung, at Tanzhaus nrw in Düsseldorf, Germany, and with Compagnie Hervé Robbe – CCN du Havre, Haute-Normandie, France, performing at Théâtre de la Ville in Paris and Vulcan Scène Nationale in Le Havre.
Within high-performance sport, works with athletes across individual and team sports, collaborating with clubs and associations including Clube Recreativo Piedense, Lisboa Ginásio Clube, Associação Fusões, Clube Desportivo Parque Expo, ADDT-Tremês and Escola do Chapitô. Professional practice focuses on injury prevention, coordination training, balance, flexibility and functional mobility.
Currently teaches and provides consultancy in the following areas:
Ashtanga Yoga and Soft Yoga
Mobility, stretching and functional flexibility training
Posture and focus techniques applied to corporate environments
Movement optimisation for high performance, working with professional dancers and elite or developing athletes
Body awareness applied to musicians
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary GAPP (Group for Action in Psychology and Performance) intervention team, under the coordination of Ana Bispo Ramires.
